Miley's Parents Call It Quits

Teen megastar Miley Cyrus’ parents, Billy Ray and Tish, have called it quits.

The couple confirmed to People on Wednesday (October 27) that they are breaking up after 17 years of marriage.

“As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family,” they said in a statement. “We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.” The pair has five children and Billy Ray is father to Metro Station’s Trace.

Both of Miley’s parents have been supportive of their superstar daughter’s career. Billy Ray, a country hit maker known for the ubiquitous 1992 jam “Achy Breaky Heart,” starred as Miley’s onscreen father on the hit Disney show “Hannah Montana.” Miley has credited him with helping her maintain a level head despite her outsize fame.

“It’s about being who you are. My dad has been in the spotlight for 20 years now and still every time he walks his dog they’re saying, ‘Billy Ray picks up dog poop,’ ” Miley told MTV News in June. “It’s like, ‘That’s a law in California, folks.’ You gotta do what you gotta do. That’s life for you. That’s life in the spotlight — it’s never gonna change.”

Miley’s mom has been instrumental behind the scenes, recently serving as an executive producer on her film “The Last Song” and inadvertently helping to cast her onscreen love interest — who eventually became her off-screen beau — Liam Hemsworth.

Miley has also paid tribute to her parents’ bond in the video for her 2009 smash “Party in the U.S.A.” Director Chris Applebaum explained to MTV News that the visual was inspired, not only by the monster throwback musical “Grease,” but also the Cyruses’ courtship.

“Interesting enough, Miley’s parents Tish and Billy Ray, when they were first dating they went to a drive-in in Kentucky, I think, called the Corral Drive-In — so we named the drive-in after that as an homage to them,” Applebaum said. “In addition, Miley’s mom Tish used to drive ‘79 black Pontiac Trans Am, ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ style, and obviously that’s the car that Miley arrives in.”

Miley has also maintained that her parents’ support has helped her deal with the sting of negative press.

“I’m a very inspirational person,” she said. “At the end of the day my parents are proud of me, and I have a feeling if your job is to bring other people down, you may not have the same response.”

Demi Loses Respect For Ex Joe Jonas

Demi Lovato has said she has lost respect for ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas for bringing his new girlfriend on tour with them .

Lovato, 18, who went on a tour with the JoBros some one month back, was a special guest on the set of the Jonas Brothers Live in Concert tour.

Joe and Lovato used to date, and now he has brought his new girl, Ashley Green, aka Alice Cullen from popular teen movie Twilight, with them on tour.

Lovato was then asked what advice she would give to other girls who were in the same situation as she was at that time.

She simply said: “You know, I don’t have advice for anybody on that. You gotta brush it off. I think there’s a certain level of respect that’s lost when that happens, but you can’t do anything about it other than to just keep going and be glad you have something in your life you can think about and spend your time with.”

7 Million Beliebers , Anyone ? - Twitter

So two weeks ago, on the 10^th November 2010 , Justin Bieber reached a total of 6 million follows on micro-blog Twitter. In recognition of the fan support, he tweeted a series of messages to his devoted Beliebers.

“So I wake up today to almost 15 million on Facebook, over a BILLION VIEWS on YOUTUBE and… 6 MILLION OF THE GREATEST FANS ON EARTH ON TWITTER!!!! THANK U,” he wrote. “This is crazy…My Hometown has only 30,000 people total! NUTS.”

The Canadian singer has a ton of fans around the globe, but his follower count got an extra push on Tuesday when #6millionbeliebers became a top trend on Twitter. Justin, being ever-so-grateful, responded with a huge thank you to all his supporters.

"So let me break this down for you. This is for all the kids out there with a dream. For every person out there who gets told you can’t be somebody or something. For everyone who dreams of something more. I’m from a small town many have never heard of. My parents had me as teenagers. Me and my mom lived in a small apartment.

Taylor Swift Coming To Singapore To Perform Live

Country girl singer , Taylor Swift is coming to Singapore on 9th February 2011 to perform live at the Singapore Indoor Stadium !

Singapore is the first stop in her Asian tour and we hope to give her a good impression of us Singaporeans right ? David Archuleta In Singapore

As most of you know , David Archuleta was in Singapore from 12th - 16th November to promote his latest album , The Other Side Of Down . He had an event at ZOUK on Sunday night followed by a fansign on Monday at Bugis Junction from 7pm - 8:30pm .

During the 4 days here in Singapore , he had countless of interviews to do , had to go to 98.7fm and 91.3fm radio stations and surprised Northlight Secondary School with his presence . Here are some of the interviews he did :

Sonny With A Chance ... Without Sonny ?

Disney Channel has apparently found a way to show Sonny with a chance without star character Sonny, or Demi Lovato , as she's known.

Various reports that people behind the set of SWAC have come up with a Demi-free 'contingency plan' for the show in case the 18-year-old misses filming due to rehab. Demi is currently off receiving in-patient retreatment for 'emotional and physical issues' after she allegedly got into an ugly brawl with a back-up dancer while on tour with the Jonas Brothers in Southern America.

So what exactly, is Disney planning? A spokeswoman says that writers for SWAC will focus their efforts on creating a stand-alone show out of Sonny's 'show-within-a-show', the Saturday Night Live-esque variety show, So Random!.

This idea isn't entirely new, as there have been two So Random! specials that presented the shows within-a-show as its own, uhm, show .

Sonny is set to continue filming in early January and Disney executives feel that this plan will alow them to go ahead with shooting even if Demi is still in treatment by end 2010.

"This allows her the time she needs to get well, without distraction or pressure," a Disney Channel spokeswoman said. "Again, we extend our ongoing support to Demi and her family as she works to overcome personal issues."

There is currently no fixed time for Demi's return so it's possible that she'll be out of treatment by the time Sonny resumes shooting. Meanwhile, fans can get a taste of So Random! special in late November when one of the specials is set to air.

It isn't clear though, if the So Random! rewrite will permanently move Demi off Sonny or if the new rewrites will only present the So Random! elements as part of a series of specials. Hopefully this will just be a temporary move and Demi will be back in the spotlight once she is healthy.

Demi Lovato Hopes To Be home By Thanksgiving

Demi Lovato is getting better and, while she currently remains on the mend in Chicago, she is hoping to be able to go home before the holidays.

“She doesn’t want to be in the center for Thanksgiving and wants to go home,” a source says.

In the meantime, she plans to bring a little piece of Hollywood to her. We heard Demi Lovato is planning to watch Miley Cyrus perform at the American Music Awards, which airs this Sunday.

Though Demi hopes to be well enough to spend the holidays at home, she’s not planning on going back to work until after the New Year, a Disney Channel insider tells us. The network is hoping its Sonny With a Chance star returns to the show within the first few months of 2011, but they do not want her rushing back before she’s ready, a source says. Disney announced last week that it would focus the sitcom’s plot on the show-within-a-show, So Random!, to pass the time while Demi’s gone.

As for her music career, a Disney source says the singer laid down four or five tracks before going on tour with the Jonas Brothers, but album plans have been shelved for now. “They’re still committed to her,” a source said. “No one is abandoning her. But she is holding off on her music for a bit.” "There are a lot of people who never heard of Demi Lovato before this,” the source added, “and if she can get through this, she will come back stronger and bigger than ever.”

Taylor Disses JoBros [Ouch]

Now we all know that Taylor Swift can be a real sweetheart to her fans, but for a band where her ex-boyfriend is concerned, oh ho, that is a different story altogether.

The Fearless singer, who appeared on the BBC's Radio 1 on Sunday to screaming fans and endless questions asked appeared very cheerful and happy. Yet amidst all these, she still took time out to snide Joe Jonas, a member of the JoBros, who 'infamously' dumped her in a very ungracious manner last year.

DJs on air asked Taylor to play a "word-association game", where is she prompted to blurt out the first word that came into her mind when certain names were mentioned.

When they got to 'Jonas Brothers' , Taylor said without hesitation, 'Ouch.'

Nicely done Taylor. Ouch indeed.

Demi Lovato Enters Treatment Centre

Demi Lovato enters Treatment Centre, she's not in REHAB.

“Demi knows she needs the help and knows that she is where she needs to be right now”, a source says.

Sources said that Demi was “out of control” long before she punched a female dancer, whom she thought squealed on her for partying. “This is a girl with emotional problems who has been fighting demons her whole life”, a source close to the family stressed.

Demi Lovato is at a facility that specializes in treating adolescents and adult women with a variety of issues, including eating disorders, mood disorders and substance abuse problems.

“Demi is not in treatment for drugs. She is there to deal with emotional and physical issues she’s been battling her whole life”, a source close to the family says, noting Demi Lovato has long struggled with eating disorders and cutting.

As she focuses on getting better, her family is firmly behind her. This past weekend, her stepfather Eddie and mom Dianna De La Garza and her sisters, Dallas, 22, and Madison, 8, visited Demi on both Saturday and Sunday.

Demi Lovato is determined to get better. She recognizes that she has a difficult road ahead.
